FACT 6: Dedicated to Shakespeare

The first real theatre built in Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-Upon-Avon, was a wooden building built by actor David Garrick to celebrate Shakespeare's birthday in 1769. It was almost washed away by terrential rain in two days.
