Today I was reading Rick Steves' travel book entitled London 2010. I am going to be leaving for London on Monday! I probably will not post my facts from January 4-12. I will post them when I return the 12. I can't wait to see what I learn in London! Anyway, this travel book is rather good. I suggest it to anyone who is traveling to London. Today's fact was found in this book. It was actually pointed out by my boyfriend Tom!
I was reading the section about the British Library (which seems insanely awesome) and I discovered an interesting fact about the author of Alice in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll:
"Lewis Carroll (whose real name was Charles L. Dodgson) was a stutterer, which made him uncomfortable around everyone but children. For them he created a fantasy world, where grown-up rules and logic were turned upside down," (Steves 191).
I found that rather interesting because 1.) I am an English major! and 2.) I love the story of Alice in Wonderland!
That's it for today!
