Vlad III prince of Wallachia was a three-time voivode of Wallachia, ruling mainly from 1456-1462. He is most known for the cruel punishments he imposed on his enemies. He is often referred to as Vlad the Impaler. In the English speaking world, he is most known for inspiring the vampire in Bram Stoker's Dracula!
